The Silent Epidemic
The United States of America has one of the highest school drop-out rates of any country in the Western industrialized nations. This issue is getting worse each year and society does not have an answer. We have come up with a solution to this problem that will combine our unique entrepreneurial program and the strong support of people of faith. We strongly feel that it is people of faith, the average churchgoer, that will be in the front lines of the "movement" that can change the lives of millions. Together we can accomplish miracles.
First, let me explain the problem:
25% to 50% of students drop out of high school. 50% do not finish college (30% the first year). This impacts approximately 3 million people each year. The majority of these individuals are minorities (African American and Spanish). These statistics do not appear anywhere - that is why it is called "The Silent Epidemic."
All too often many of these individuals become unemployed, drop out of society, turn to chemical and alcohol abuse, father children at an early age out of wedlock, and finally, in order to support themselves, they might commit a crime. 85% of those individuals in jail do not have a high school degree. That is what happens to individuals who have no hope for the future, do not see the light at the end of the tunnel, and they turn away from faith.
The TEC Entrepreneurial Program Has A Better Way
The TEC Entrepreneurial Program is customized and designed to turn these individuals into successful entrepreneurs - business persons. We believe that we can convert "street smart" and "common sense" into "business sense." There is an alternate way to becoming successful than just getting a college degree. While we stress the highest possible level of education for all individuals. We also realize that for one reason or another college is not for everyone.
We have created a web site (www.theteccenter.org) and a TEC Entrepreneurial Program that will do the following: 1) Teach individuals how to think and act like an entrepreneur. 2) We have over 50 trades and businesses for them to choose from. 3) We will upfront the cost of starting the business. 4) We will partner with them to help insure success (with our lawyers and accountants). This is a methodology that works. Once an individual can see the light at the end of the tunnel - they will become successful with our support. Our support and your support. Obviously, we encourage every individual to join our program.
Unlike trade schools that charge $8,000 per semester, the TEC Center charges a member only $10 a month (payable quarterly). This is an amount that even the poorest of families can afford - an amount that offers no excuse to any individual who truly wants to become successful.
People Of Faith Shall Lead The Way
We strongly believe that the answer to The Silent Epidemic lies in the hands of People of Faith. We strongly believe that it is People of Faith who can lead those who are left behind and take them out of the desert and into the Promised Land.
We strongly believe that if just one Person of Faith - can sponsor one individual (a family member, a friend, a neighbor, or even a stranger) to their first 3 months of TEC membership (total $30) - then together we can impact millions to a better life - and a return to Faith. Once an individual realizes that their financial future is in their hands - and ours (for support), then there is nothing we can not accomplish together.
